The Carpenter reports to the Foreman. Classification: Non-exempt Responsibilities Conduct themselves in alignment with the Downing Core Values Take direction from the Foreman and the jobsite Superintendent Lead crews as determined by the Foreman and jobsite Superintendent Study specification in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine process and materials required Prepare material to specified measurements using hand tools or power tools Install, repair, or finish structures and fixtures such as, but not limited to, windows, frames, flooring, walls, trim, and hardware using hand tools or power tools Build or repair cabinetry, doors, frameworks, or other wooden fixtures using woodworking machinery, carpentry hand tools or power tools Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level Perform minor concrete work Maintain a clean and orderly work environment Perform all work with plan compliance Comply with all work-related deadlines Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent One to two years of field experience CPR & First Aid certified Be in good physical condition with ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Ability to actively listen to gain understanding of comments and questions Ability to pay attention to minute details of a project or task Ability to find a solution or deal proactively with work related issues Dependable and trustworthy Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Team focused with initiative to work individually Disciplined work ethic Service attitude Excellent communication skills Flexibility to move from one job to another Willingness to travel when necessary Leadership Skills Takes ownership and responsibility Fosters teamwork Serves as an example to others Communication Is a good promoter of all things Downing, both internally and externally Safety Be the ambassador of Downing’s safety motto: One Person.
